Ernst Kretschmer (1888-1964), German psychiatrist and psychologist, professor at the University of Tübingen. He is widely known for his classification of characters (“Body Structure and Character”, 1921), as well as for his research in the field of medical psychology and psychotherapy. In the book “On Hysteria,” first published in 1923, Kretschmer reveals the mechanism of occurrence of hysterical disorders. The book has not been republished in Russian for more than seventy years.
