Книга «Цезар, або з волі долі» є неймовірним продовженням циклу «Владики Риму» і вражає своєю глибиною та історичною достовірністю. Колін Маккалоу знову вміло занурює читача у світ давнього Риму, де політичні інтриги, військові кампанії та особисті драми переплітаються в одну велику картину. Образ Юлія Цезаря розкривається з нових сторін, показуючи його не лише як геніального полководця, але й як людину, що бореться зі своїми амбіціями та внутрішніми демонами. Конфлікти між Цезарем та Помпеєм Великим створюють напружену атмосферу, яка тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Хоча переклад тексту має деякі недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися захоплюючим сюжетом і глибокими персонажами.
