This is the second novel depicting events taking place after the reign of King Louis XIII, from the famous historical adventure trilogy (“The Three Musketeers”, 1844, “Twenty Years Later”, 1845, “Vicomte de Bragelonne”, 1848-50) by the French writer Alexandra Dumas, which is connected by the commonality of the main characters Athos, Porthos, Aramis and d'Artagnan, thirsting for the romance of exploits.
