London. 1953 Thirteen years ago, the war ended, as a result of which Great Britain united with Nazi Germany into a single state - the Anglo-Saxon Union, and in fact became its protectorate. In this alternate reality, preparations are underway for the coronation of a new royal couple - Edward VIII and Queen Wallis Simpson, although these figures do not decide anything: they are just puppets in the hands of the new political regime. The regime is cruel and hypocritical, erasing feelings and thoughts from people, and at the word “culture” it grabs a gun. And although many English men - defeated and humiliated - seem to have completely despaired and given up resistance, the “weaker sex” may have a chance to turn the tide.

Книга "Троянди" переносить читача в похмурий, але захоплюючий світ, де війна залишила глибокі шрами на суспільстві. Автор майстерно створює атмосферу жорстокого режиму, де особисті свободи та культура стають жертвами політичних ігор. Сюжет розгортається навколо коронації нового монаршого подружжя, але справжня сила та боротьба за свободу лежать у руках тих, кого суспільство вважає "слабкою статтю". Ця книга змушує задуматися про цінність людської гідності та опору в умовах безвиході. Хоча переклад тексту може містити деякі недоліки, це не зменшує враження від глибини ідей, які автор передає. Рекомендую всім, хто любить альтернативну історію та глибокі соціальні коментарі!
