This book differs significantly from existing publications on personality disorders. It revised and expanded the clinical characteristics of personality disorders in accordance with new data. Personality disorders that are not included in DSM-IV-TR (2000) are described. Particular attention is paid to dissociative identity disorder, which is often either not diagnosed at all or misdiagnosed. The issues of etiology and mechanisms of development of personality disorders are discussed in detail, the features of therapy are presented, including dialectical behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, etc. Modern information about combined psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological approaches to the treatment and correction of personality disorders is presented.
