Few of our contemporaries are honored with their own biography during their lifetime. The biographical novel by Emmanuel Carrère, which tells the life story of Eduard Limonov, is a precedent in this sense. The book became a big event in France, where the author received the Renaudo Prize for it, and is preparing to become an international event: the rights have been sold to more than 20 countries. With the publication of the biography, a new history of the writer Limonov in Europe began, his books are again being republished and translated. Now the French writer’s view of the life and work of his Russian colleague is also accessible to the traditionally skeptical domestic reader.
