The Scourge and the Hammer are two symbols of the era of witch hunts, nicknames that were awarded to the persecutors of heretics, the exterminators of those who began to be suspected not just of witchcraft, but of involvement in a sect that worshiped the devil himself. The book contains materials about the persecution of witchcraft in France, Spain, Germany, England, Scotland and the New World, as well as protocols of witch trials, interrogations of the accused, extorted under torture in a prison cell, verdicts of demonologists and prices for the services of an executioner.
