Автор знову демонструє свою майстерність у створенні захоплюючих сюжетів, які занурюють читача у світ, де історія могла б піти зовсім іншим шляхом. Пригоди двоюрідних братів Менедема та Сострата, які намагаються знайти своє місце у світі після смерті Олександра Македонського, наповнені інтригами, небезпеками та неймовірними морськими битвами.
