Giovanni Giacomo Casanova, the great adventurer, was not only a great seducer, but also a writer who left magnificent Memoirs that immortalized the name of the author. However, in the shadow of these Memoirs there remained a book that had never before been translated into Russian: “The History of My Escape from the Venetian Prison Called Piombi” (1787). It was written in Bohemia at the castle of Dux in French. This is an incredibly fascinating story about the most risky adventure of this brilliant adventurer: a daring escape from a carefully guarded prison ultimately made possible all subsequent escapades in Casanova's long life.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
