In all the sinister literature about the other world, there is no other creature that would cause greater horror, disgust and morbid interest than the Vampire. No other monster has attracted so much attention from the recognized masters of this genre, and no other creature from the power of darkness has been able to inspire writers and become the hero of so many and outstanding nightmare stories. Our collection is based on the book compiled by Peter Haining, “ They appear at midnight." The second part of the book “Dracula Syndrome” contains stories by W. Tenn, D. Keller, R. Bloch, G. Kuttner and R. Specht. The story about Vampires ends with A. K. Tolstoy’s story “The Ghoul.”
