In Hitler’s Rockets Norman Longmate tells the story of the V-2, the technically brilliant but hated weapon, the ancestor and forerunner of all subsequent ballistic missiles. Книга "Ракети Гітлера" Нормана Лонгмейта є вражаючим дослідженням, яке розкриває не лише технічні аспекти створення Фау-2, але й складну політичну гру, що відбувалася в нацистській Німеччині. Автор майстерно поєднує факти з особистими свідченнями, що дозволяє читачеві зануритися в атмосферу того часу. Я був вражений, як Лонгмейт зміг показати, наскільки важливою була роль британської розвідки в розумінні загрози, яку представляли ці ракети. Хоча текст перекладений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, загалом він читається досить легко, хоча в деяких місцях зустрічаються незначні перекладні неточності. Проте це не зменшує цінності книги. Вона спонукає до роздумів про наслідки технологічного прогресу в умовах війни та про те, як страх і ненависть можуть впливати на людство. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче краще зрозуміти історію та її уроки!
