Konstantin Vanshenkin is known and loved primarily for his poems, which have become truly folk songs (“I love you, life,” “How the steamships see off,” “Alyosha,” etc.) The book of the famous poet differs from the works of his “comrades in memoir workshop" primarily because it does not have the usual concentration on oneself in this genre. The author is just one of the members of the Club, where you can meet Tvardovsky and Bernes, Antokolsky and Svetlov, Vysotsky and Streltsov. This is a story about time and people, an interesting and friendly story, although sometimes impartial. There is sadness in it for those who have passed away, and bitterness from what has not come true... But most importantly, there is hope for the best, as in every poetic line of Konstantin Vanshenkin.
