Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) is a classic of English literature, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907, who owes his fame primarily to the romance that permeates his poetry collections. The fifth volume of his collected works includes: the novel “Naulaka” ( 1891), on the pages of which there is a meeting of the exotic East and the American West - the novel tells the story of the search for the legendary treasure of Naulaki; as well as a collection of tales “Old England”, the folk basis of which, coupled with the traditional style of the old English essay, demonstrate Kipling as a writer inexhaustible in the field of form.
