The Gagauz folk fairy tale represents the rich spiritual heritage of the people. The main character of the Gagauz fairy tale is the personification of the aesthetic ideal of the people, which expresses their ideas about the beautiful and sublime. This is both a hero - a hero who saves people from monsters, a protector of the clan (Vanchu, Binbir - Ivanchu), and a hero - a cunning one (Judzhya Todur, Dimitrash - Pytyrash, Pirku, etc.). The spread and preservation of fairy-tale creativity among the Gagauz people was facilitated, first of all, by the nomadic lifestyle of their ancestors. Shepherds, going to distant pastures or protecting their herds at night, brightened up their leisure time with fairy tales and legends. In this book you will get acquainted with such fairy tales as “Arnaut”, “Yorgi”, “Vanchu-pelivan”, “Pirku”, “Ganish”, “The Golden Horse”, “The Orphan”, “The Magic Cap”, “Dimitrash-Pytyrash” ", "Good Ivanchu", "Cimana and Manchu", "Iron Bear", "The Adventures of Kelesh" and others in translations by V. Sirf, M. Khazin, G. Gaidarzhi, Yu. Lopatkov and A. Tukan. The compiler of the volume and the author of the preface is Vitaly Sirf, Candidate of Philological Sciences.
