This volume presents both sides of the work of prose writer Evgeniy Voiskunsky - realist and science fiction writer. The action of the novel “Girls' Dreams” takes place on the eve of the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Karabakh confrontation responded with tragic events in Baku, a terrible escalation of interethnic hostility, and the expulsion of thousands of innocent people from their homes. The whirlwind of events mercilessly breaks the fate of the Russian-German-Jewish family of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the Azerbaijani-Armenian family of their school friends. Two fantastic stories - “Chimera” and “Deviant” - adjoin the novel with their moral issues and drama, so characteristic of the bygone twentieth century. Can the attempts of the heroes of these stories to make humanity happy come true? Or will all the tragic contradictions of the era migrate to the future?

Книга "Дівочі сни" Євгена Войскунського вражає своєю глибиною та багатошаровістю. Автор майстерно поєднує реалістичні елементи з фантастичними, створюючи незабутню атмосферу, що переносить читача в часи напередодні розпаду Радянського Союзу. Сюжет, який охоплює трагічні події Карабахського протистояння, змушує замислитися над темами національної ідентичності, ворожнечі та людських доль. Персонажі, зокрема російсько-німецько-єврейська родина ветерана та їхні азербайджансько-вірменські друзі, розкривають глибокі емоції та переживання, що робить їх близькими та зрозумілими. Додаткові повісті "Хімера" та "Девіант" підсилюють загальну моральну проблематику, ставлячи важливі питання про майбутнє людства. Хоча переклад тексту створений за допомогою штучного інтелекту і в деяких місцях має недоліки, загальна якість твору не зменшується.
