This anthology contains stories written in the genre of the “classic detective story,” where a crime is solved as a result of the intense intellectual activity of a detective detective. In the introductory essay, Daniel Kluger talks about the history of the classic detective story, his fate and place in the modern literary process . In his story “The Duel in Lorbrulgrud” the reader will meet Lemuel Gulliver himself, who solved a murder in the country of the Lilliputians. The action of “Purimspiel” by Leonid Shifman takes place in the USA, “Mistakes” by Olga Bays takes place in the fictitious country of Saint River, and the events of “Cyanide by -Turkish” by Pavel Amnuel take place in real Israel, but in the near future. The hero of Alexander Rybalka's stories “What time is it?” and “The Ice Leg” investigates crimes in the Principality of Valdez, and Michel Alexander in the miniature “The Horror of Stoke Moron” paradoxically combines a classic detective story with another popular genre - horror literature.
