Yuri Vinnichuk’s burlesque “Hee-hee-hee” was written as a confession of a patient in a psychiatric hospital. The text evokes a lot of literary associations (Boccaccio, Kotlyarevsky, Bukowski), but above all - the traditions of Ukrainian chimerical prose, the modern version of which is Vinnichuk’s story. Vinnichuk Yuri Pavlovich was born in 1952 in Stanislav (now Ivano-Frankivsk). Poet, prose writer, translator, editor-in-chief of the Pyramid publishing house, vice-president of the Association of Ukrainian Writers. Graduated from the philological faculty of the Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute. The works have been translated into English, German, French and other languages. Lives in Lviv.
