In 1957, the novel “Doctor Zhivago” was published abroad, which its author considered the pinnacle of his prose creativity. In 1958, the Swedish Academy awarded B. L. Pasternak the Nobel Prize in Literature. A scandal broke out in the USSR, followed by persecution of the writer. The history of the publication of Doctor Zhivago abroad and in the USSR, as well as the dramatic circumstances accompanying it, are described on the pages of the book offered to the reader with all the details of not only the factual side of the matter, confirmed by documentary evidence, but also a recreation of the atmosphere of that time.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
