There is a new boom on the world book market - Scandinavian, and in particular Swedish detective fiction. Before Stieg Larsson had finished making noise with his “Millennium” trilogy, a new “northern virus” arrived from Sweden - Jens Lapidus with his “Stockholm noir”. Building a plot based on real cases with which he worked in criminal court, lawyer Lapidus wrote a novel about the Stockholm mafia - and, as they say, woke up famous: in Sweden alone, with its population of nine million, the circulation exceeded half a million, the book has already been translated into 26 languages , a film adaptation by Daniel Espinosa has been released (on Russian screens since October 2010) and an American remake is planned (Warner Brothers won the rights at a fierce auction; Zac Efron will produce and star in the title role). So, the main characters: Chilean Jorge, imprisoned for cocaine trafficking, plans to escape from the zone and take revenge on those who imprisoned him; Serbian Mrado goes to war with “wolves”, “hells angels” and “natural gangsters”, dividing spheres of influence, and is suing his ex-wife for custody of his daughter; Juve pretends to be a major, studies to become a lawyer, secretly works as a private driver, but is ready to agree to a more lucrative offer from his boss - and is looking for his sister, who went missing several years ago. Their paths will cross. The second book of the trilogy is planned for release in 2011.
