A long time ago, in a certain kingdom, in a certain state, there lived a young girl named Poison. What kind of mother, you say, would of her own free will call her child Poison? That’s right, my mother won’t name me. The girl chose this name for herself, to spite her stepmother. None of the neighbors were surprised, because they had long known her stubborn character. And when Poison turned sixteen, trouble came: evil elves kidnapped her sister, just a baby. And Poison went on a search, although she did not know what dangers awaited her on the way. Doesn’t it look like the beginning of a good old fairy tale? But all fairy tales are somewhat similar. Bloodthirsty monsters and loyal friends, treacherous elves and crossroads of worlds... However, the most precious thing in fairy tales is not the plot twists, but the feeling of miracle. Those who manage to create bewitching, magical worlds that captivate the reader, living according to their own laws, are called storytellers. Storytellers have lived at all times. Who said that now they have transferred? Chris Wooding has created a tale of fairy tales that will appeal to everyone who loved The Snow Queen and The Little Mermaid.
