Christina Roy was born into the family of an evangelical pastor in Stara Tura. In her hometown in 1897, she, together with her sister Maria, founded the Blue Cross tolerance society and the diaconal center, the purpose of which was the moral transformation of society, helping those who are dependent on alcohol, and raising the moral level of the population. She later founded a shelter for street children and orphans. In 1911 she founded a small outpatient hospital, in 1926 an orphanage, and in 1933 a nursing home. She began her writing career with short stories. Then she wrote short stories, novels, and other major works. Many of her stories were published in Slovak magazines. Christina has written more than 80 works, some of which are still unpublished. Christina also wrote lyrics for Christian songs, ninety-five of which were published in the collection “Songs of Zion.” Some of them were subsequently translated into Russian and included in the collection “Song of the Renaissance”. Since 1925, she published the magazine “Evening Party”.
