The book is a collection of 60 tramp ballads, which are mostly written in thieves' jargon. They all touch upon and glorify the romance of the lives of thieves, robbers, prisoners, wanderers, hermits and predators. Particular attention is paid not only to the meaning of the works, but also to the choice of words and the beauty of presentation, the accuracy of rhymes and the proportionality of lines. At the end of this book, the most incomprehensible, outdated and rare words that are used in poems are interpreted.
