What the author found during his travels mentioned in the Introduction, and also later, especially from 1915 to 1919, will be described in another book.* The present book was begun and practically completed before 1914. But all its chapters, even those that had already been published as separate books (The Fourth Dimension, Superman, Tarot Symbols and What is Yoga?), were subsequently revised and are now more closely related to each other. Despite everything that has appeared in recent years in the field of “new physics,” the author was able to add very little to the second part of the tenth chapter (“New Model of the Universe”). In this book, this chapter begins with a general overview of the development of new ideas in physics, which constitutes the first part of the chapter. Of course, this review does not aim to familiarize readers with all the theories and literature on this issue. Likewise, in other chapters where the author had to refer to some literature on the issues he raised, he did not intend to exhaust all the works, point out all the main trends, or even review the most important works and the most recent ideas. In such cases, it was enough for him to indicate examples of one or another direction of thought. * We are talking about the last book by P.D. Uspensky’s “In Search of the Miraculous,” published after the author’s death in 1949 - approx. ed. The order of the chapters in the book does not always correspond to the order in which they were written, since much was written simultaneously and different passages explain each other. Each chapter is labeled with the year it was started and the year it was revised or completed. London, 1930
