When I found out that my book would be called “Dancing with the Cops,” I was indignant and began to explain that the police officer himself has the right to call himself whatever he wants - “filthy cop,” “doomed cop,” etc. And I am an employee of the prosecutor’s office, and my heroine is an employee of the prosecutor’s office, so the word “cop” on the cover of my book will look at least unethical. I resisted as best I could. But my amateurish opinion was defeated by the iron will of book publishing professionals. Therefore, I can only apologize to the police officers, whom I have the greatest respect and never call them cops (although, I admit, I danced).
