The story “Police Sergeant”, in modern terms, was a bestseller of the 50s - early 60s, went through more than ten mass editions, in many theaters across the country a play based on the story was staged with great success, and a multi-part television film was shot. She was awarded the prize of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs and the USSR Writers' Union (1955). Much of the story is autobiographical, the prototype of the main character is a real person. And although the basis is the intrigue of the search for the criminal troika who committed the robbery, in the story there is not a trace of the cliches of a police detective, which have become widespread in our literature today.
