The Agni Publishing House is completing the publication of the translation into Russian of the monumental work Akbar-nameh, a unique source on the history of India in the 16th century, written by Abu-l Fazl Allami, a politician, friend and adviser to Padishah Akbar. The narrative of the seventh book covers the events of 1585-1605. This is the period when Akbar, who was recognized as a great ruler far beyond the borders of Hindustan, had to not only pacify the revolts of the courtiers, but also face the ambition of the first-born - Prince Salim, survive the death of his sons, beloved mother and friend.The book is published in Russian for the first time, which makes the publication unique for the Russian and world community. The only European language into which this significant work has been translated to this day was English.The text is supplemented by an introductory article and an appendix - selected chapters from Ain-i-Akbari. The publication is supplied with a detailed scientific commentary, nominal and geographical indexes. The presented Indian miniatures from the richest collection of the Chester Beatty Library (Dublin, Ireland) and color photographs provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the art of the Mughal era.The book is useful to everyone who is interested in and studies the history, literature, art of the East, as well as world culture in general.
