The planet Hain is the center of the Ekumen - the League of Worlds, uniting many galactic civilizations. The action of the books of the famous Hain cycle takes place on different planets of the Ekumen. This volume includes the first novels of the cycle (according to internal chronology), as well as the story “The Day Before the Revolution,” which is closely related to the novel “Deprived.” In the mid-seventies, this novel became the “absolute champion of the genre”, winning all the most prestigious American science fiction awards: Hugo, Nebula and Locus.
