The text of the book offered to the reader was written more than 120 years ago. At the end of the 1870s. Russian naval officer Captain-Lieutenant Pavel Mordovia, having done a lot of work on summarizing Western press materials on armored shipbuilding, prepared the manuscript of the book “The English Armored Fleet” for publication. The book was printed in a small edition in 1878 at the printing house of the Naval Ministry and a few years later became a bibliographic rarity. It describes with encyclopedic precision all types of English battleships from the Warrior to the Dreadnought. The chapters devoted to seaworthy parapet-tower monitors formed the basis of this book. For a wide range of readers interested in military history.
