Anais Nin (1903 - 1977) - was born in Paris in the family of a Spanish pianist and a French singer. In 1914 she moved to the USA and returned to Paris only in the 30s. Nin was one of the first women to write openly about erotica. “The ideal that we must achieve,” wrote Anaïs Nin, “is the recognition of the sensual nature of women.”
