This electronic edition includes the books “The Jungle Book” and “The Second Jungle Book” by Rudyard Joseph Kipling, which make up the duology. Russian readers are familiar with this duology primarily from the adapted translation of “Mowgli,” which includes only stories about a boy who is a pupil of a wolf pack. Kipling's original books include, in addition to the story of Mowgli, seven more stories. In addition, Kipling placed a poetic epigraph at the beginning of each tale, and a poetic ballad at the end. In Russia, The Jungle Books were published in full (including all poetic works) extremely rarely. This collection contains all the stories and poems from both books, translated by different translators. The chapters about Mowgli are presented in full - the classic translation by Nina Daruzes is supplemented in those places where she made abbreviations. The collection also contains an "extra" story about Mowgli, which is not included in any of the Jungle Books. The text is complemented by illustrations.
