The work of the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod Sergei Grigorovsky “On kinship and property,” first published in 1894, is devoted to indicating the degrees of kinship and property that prevent the conclusion of a church marriage. Due to its practical convenience, the brochure, equipped with many drawings and diagrams, went through a number of reprints before the revolution. Attached to the work is an article by the same author, written in 1899, on the prohibitions on adoption during Holy Baptism.
