Philipp Mainländer (October 5, 1841 – April 1, 1876) - German poet and philosopher. In his main work, “Philosophy of Liberation” (Philosophy of Redemption), Mainländer sets out, according to Theodor Lessing, “perhaps the most radical system of pessimism that exists in philosophical literature" The philosopher proclaims that there is no value in human existence and that "the realization that non-existence is better than being is the highest principle of all morality
