Theoretical foundations of the psychology of communication and the negotiation process in extreme conditions are considered. Psychologically substantiated ways and means of mastering the skills and abilities of effective interaction by law enforcement officers are disclosed. Technologies and specific psychotechnics of verbal and non-verbal communication in various circumstances are presented, including negotiating with criminals who have taken hostages. The purpose, types and methods of practical use of psychotechnologies of communication are considered. Methods for effective negotiation, building contacts with partners-manipulators, productive resolution of conflict situations in extreme conditions are proposed.
