Doctor Mesmer revealed to the world the phenomenon of animal magnetism. He considered magnetism to be an invisible fluid, part of the force emanating from the stars, with the help of which many diseases could be healed. Mesmer's student Karl Berg realized that the magnetism brought to life by his teacher was capable of not only healing human bodies. Berg planned to return the dead man from oblivion and “settle” him in a new body, “suppressing” the previous owner. And thanks to this, the English nobleman Arthur Darnay “turned” into the French revolutionary Andre Fourier.
