Processes - and especially business processes - are an integral part of the activities of any organization. A clear description of business processes is necessary for both the team managing the corresponding process, the owner of the process, and its leader. Employees interacting with the processes described, as well as suppliers and consumers, cannot do without such a description. Interest in describing processes is due to many reasons. But the most important of these is the ability to continuously improve. To improve processes, first of all, you need to ensure their visualization and transparency, i.e. clearly see and understand how the process works, where added value is created, where losses occur. Value stream maps allow you to describe processes of any kind, both production and service. This book is the first publication in Russia that describes in detail the methodology for constructing value stream maps, one of the most important tools of lean manufacturing. The proposed methodology was developed by Michael Rother and John Shook based on their personal experience with Toyota. The book is aimed at practicing managers, as well as specialists in any field of activity who are interested in increasing the efficiency of business processes. It can be used as a teaching aid for students of higher and secondary technical educational institutions.
