In the year when the Russian Empire became the most powerful state in the world, people appeared with burning eyes and a firm conviction that they would turn this world upside down. These were the wealthiest and most educated people of the empire, young people close to the tsar and the authorities, who a few years later would go to Senate Square and stage an uprising. However, this will be a decade later... In the meantime, in 1816, the first secret society just began its work, which received a very pompous name - “Union of Salvation.” The proposed book includes the memoirs of all the main participants in the “Union of Salvation”: S.I. Muravyov-Apostol, S. Trubetskoy, P. Pestel and others.

Спогади учасників таємного суспільства "Союз порятунку" надають унікальний погляд на їхні мотивації, мрії та страхи. Книга не лише інформативна, але й емоційно насичена, що дозволяє відчути напруження та тривогу тих часів. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має недоліки, загальна якість роботи вражає. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, політикою та соціальними змінами. Вона спонукає до роздумів і відкриває нові горизонти в розумінні історичних подій.
