The book is dedicated to the life and worldview of the “philosopher of philosophers” Benedict Spinoza (1632–1677). The author, the famous Israeli writer Peter Lukimson, questions and revises many known facts of the biography of the great thinker and attempts to psychoanalyze his personality, as a result of which it appears in a new, sometimes completely unexpected light. Particular attention in the book is occupied by the analysis of Spinoza’s influence on the development of world philosophy and the mass consciousness of mankind.
