The word “samizdat”, which firmly entered the Russian dictionary of the second half of the 20th century, is directly related to the name of A. I. Solzhenitsyn. He was one of the first who, distributing his texts in dozens of blind typewritten copies, managed to convey them to thousands of thinking people. “Don’t live by lies!”, “Education”, “If you don’t want to be blind” - these phrases went among the people and became popular. Reading Solzhenitsyn’s journalism, you involuntarily remember two “Prophets” - Pushkin’s and Lermontov’s. His verb always burns. And for this, stones were furiously thrown at the writer more than once - both from the left and from the right. But Solzhenitsyn always remained true - and equal - to himself...

Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Lenin in Zurich. Stories. Tiny ones. Journalism. Publishing house "U-Factoria". Ekaterinburg. 1999.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
