Peter Ramey is a 33-year-old writer who moved to Madaket, a small town on the island of Nantucket, ostensibly in search of solitude, although it would be more accurate to say that he was running away from the ruins of his own life. I rented a cottage here, and in eight months I had already written one book, but I was going to stay for the second one. The second book was a little autobiographical, and one of the main characters here was... the wind - an intelligent proto-creature. A furious, frantic creature, half-spirit and half-animal. And then people started disappearing in the city...
