The book presents a significant amount of selected poetic works by Lorenzo de' Medici (1449–1492), an Italian poet, thinker and statesman of the Renaissance, the famous poem by Angelo Poliziano (1454–1494) “Stanzas for the Tournament,” as well as extravagant “tailed "sonnets and two short poems by Luigi Pulci (1432–1484), master of burlesque. The works included in the book, with few exceptions, have not previously been translated into Russian. The publication is supplied with research and commentary.
