The textbook continues the author's line in the course “Social Studies” for grades 5-9. His material focuses on issues related to social norms, the legal status and rights of children, as well as the functions of law enforcement agencies. The textbook contains illustrations, diagrams, tables. The methodological apparatus for each paragraph includes a variety of multi-level questions and tasks for collective and independent work, topics for project activities, statements by scientists, writers and extracts from documents for reading, analysis and discussion, a lesson dictionary. The textbook also includes five workshops to consolidate the material covered. The textbook is written in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard for Basic General Education, approved by the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian Academy of Sciences, and included in the Federal List.
