The brave Finn Raimo comes to Russia to get his bear. Finding himself in a cheerful company of Russian hunters, he very soon realizes that there is no chance of a trophy for him here. But instead of a bear skin, the guest receives thorough lessons in the “peculiarities of the national hunt” in Russian.

A young Finnish hunting specialist, “date”, persuades his Russian friend to help him take part in a real Russian hunt in order to get acquainted with the customs and the habits of Russian hunters. The painfully familiar endless feasts with subsequent adventures, saturated with the strong smell of vodka, constantly surprise and amaze the Finn, but still, comparing the traditions of the historical past with the originality of the present, he does not regret the lost time... The film has become the undisputed leader of the Russian film release in 1995.
