Knightly orders are the absolute embodiment of the medieval spirit, achieved by the combination of two main components - monastic postulates and the ideals of chivalry. Some of these orders, for example the Order of Malta, still exist today. In her new book, Ekaterina Monusova reveals to us an impressive panorama of the formation and development of all knightly orders, fascinatingly talking about each of them and giving portraits of the most famous knights.

Вона детально описує становлення та розвиток різних орденів, таких як тамплієри та Мальтійський орден, наводячи численні приклади їхнього впливу на політичні та економічні процеси в Європі. Особливо вражає, як автор зуміла поєднати історичні дані з захоплюючими розповідями про найзнаменитіших лицарів, що робить читання не лише пізнавальним, а й надзвичайно цікавим. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, це не заважає загальному враженню від книги.
