Sergey Nosov is a historian, philologist, literary critic, essayist and poet. Doctor of Philological Sciences and Candidate of Historical Sciences. Born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) in 1956. From 1982 to 2013, he was a leading employee of the Pushkin House (Institute of Russian Literature) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Author of a large number of works on the history of Russian literature and thought, including several well-known books about outstanding Russian writers and thinkers who left their noticeable mark on the history of Russian culture: Apollo Grigoriev. Published works of various genres in many leading Russian literary magazines - “Zvezda”, “New World”, “Neva”, “North”, “New Journal”, in the Parisian Russian-language newspaper “Russian Thought”, etc. Poems were first published in Russian samizdat - in the Leningrad samizdat magazine “Hours” in the 1980s. During the years of Gorbachev’s “Perestroika” he was admitted to the official Soviet press. He was included as a poet in the “Anthology of Russian Free Libre”, “Anthology of Russian Lyricism”, published poems in the “Russian Poetry Day” and “Leningrad Poetry Day”; magazines “Seven Arts” (Hannover), in the St. Petersburg “New Journal” and many other publications. After a long break, he returned to poetry in 2015. And again he began to actively publish as a poet - in the magazines “Neva”, “Seven Arts”, “Russian Bell”, “Periscope”, in the publications “Anthology of Eurasia” and “Anthology of Literature of the 21st Century”, etc. In 2016 he became a finalist in a series poetry awards - the Poet of the Year, Heritage, etc. Poems were translated into several European languages. Lives in St. Petersburg.
