This book is about the difficult and sometimes confusing relationship between company directors and accountants. It is no secret that in any company, from a small shop to a large enterprise, accountants are a special caste of employees. Even if they don’t stand at machines or behind counters, even if their work, like that of the valiant police, seems invisible at first glance, but a lot depends on them, including the calculation and payment of that very cherished salary for all workers. Few of the “mere mortals” who are not privy to the “mysteries” of numbers, accounting reports and balance sheets understand anything about their work, which makes accountants even more mysterious employees. And the fact that they, like no one else, are privy to the most intimate secrets of the company’s financial condition, including the shadow and even “black” sides of the business, makes their relationship with the management team special. But a special relationship does not mean any privileges, and sometimes quite the opposite. Often it is the possession of financial and intimate information that adds a special flavor to the relationship between the boss and the chief accountant. It’s just impossible to be indifferent to a person who knows so much about your business (and about you personally). As a result, accountants are both disliked and feared. So who are they – directors and accountants and what is their relationship like sometimes? Irina Savinova, an accountant with many years of experience, talks about this in her book “My Bosses”. Although the book is critical in nature, it still contains a lot of analysis. The main goal of this story is not to denigrate the management of private enterprises, but to strive for a state of affairs when every accountant will find his favorite job and be happy! The book was first published in 2005, but time passes, and Irina Savinova supplemented and revised it, resulting in a second edition, which is offered to your attention.
