Shusaku Endo, whom critics called “the Japanese Graham Greene” and Graham Greene himself called one of the best writers of the 20th century, is an outstanding novelist and playwright, a classic of Japanese literature. Deciding to meet the impostor face to face, Suguro rushes into the world of peep shows and sadomasochistic clubs.

Роман «Скандал» Сюсаку Ендо - це справжня перлина японської літератури, яка вражає своєю глибиною та актуальністю теми. Автор майстерно досліджує питання ідентичності, репутації та моральних дилем, з якими стикається головний герой, письменник Сугуро. Його боротьба з самозванцем, який підриває його літературну репутацію, стає символом внутрішньої боротьби кожного з нас. Ендо вміло поєднує елементи трилера з психологічним аналізом, що робить книгу надзвичайно захопливою. Читачі отримують можливість заглибитися в темряву людської душі та відкрити для себе нові грані моралі. Переклад, хоч і має деякі недоліки, не заважає насолоджуватися цією захопливою історією. Рекомендую всім, хто цінує глибокі та змістовні твори!
