Yulia Viner was born in the USSR shortly before the start of the Second World War, her youth fell on the “thaw” and the “development of virgin lands”, her maturity during the years of “stagnation”, which for her personally ended with emigration to Israel in the early 1970s. Wartime childhood, Komsomol-student impulses and subsequent disappointment, literary environment, meetings with famous writers (Andrei Platonov, Viktor Nekrasov and others)... A gifted storyteller, Yu. Viner vividly and with humor draws colorful details of the life of that era, recreates images of a variety of people - from neighbors in a Moscow communal apartment to a London hippie lord or an Arab family, the head of which is a passionate admirer of classical Russian literature. The landscapes against which the events unfold are no less diverse: the steppes of Kazakhstan, the Garden of Gethsemane, New York, Amsterdam, London... But not only people became the heroes of the stories told in this book, there was also a place in it for the stubborn horse Gnedko, and for the cunning crow... The world, huge and colorful, life long, dramatic, eventful, is what attracts this story.
