The Book of Changes is an outstanding monument of Chinese and world culture and philosophical thought. More than half a century ago, “The Book of Changes” was translated into Russian and studied by the brilliant orientalist, scientist and poet Yu.K. Shchutsky (1897-1938). His work “The Chinese Classical Book of Changes,” published in 1960, became a classic of Russian oriental studies. This edition, prepared by A.I. Kobzev, in addition to the updated text of the translation and research, includes a new introduction, commentary, and a number of appendices - materials about the life and scientific activities of Yu.K. Shchutsky.
