Vladimir Rus' existed for two centuries: from the second half of the 12th century, from the reign of Andrei Bogolyubsky, to the second half of the 14th century, the era of Dmitry Donskoy. It was a historically united region with a common capital - Vladimir, which was a symbol of the unity of North-Eastern Rus'. At the beginning of the 14th century she found herself in a desperate situation. Ruined, fragmented, depopulated under the yoke of the Horde, it seemed that it would never regain its former greatness. But it was precisely this that became the core of the future Russia, the soil on which the united Russian state arose. It became a crucible from whose flames emerged Holy Rus' - a country of ascetic monks who enlightened the colossal expanses of the North with the faith of Christ. Finally, it preserved the experience of Byzantine autocracy, the state system of the true Empire. This book is dedicated to four outstanding rulers and commanders of Vladimir Rus'.
