The Golden Age of Ancient Rome, which lasted about 500 years. The period of the Republic, which began with Brutus and ended with Brutus. This was a time when Rome was a young city-state, a prosperous country with a developed civilization and, finally, the center of the struggle for truth, which everyone understood in their own way. In the proposed book, first published in 1913 under the title “A Book for Reading on Ancient history. Part II. Rome - Republic”, tells about the daily, private and public life of the Roman Republic. Among the participants in this unusual project were the future luminaries of Soviet historical science - N.A. Kuhn, V.N. Pertsev, S.I. Radzig, A.A. Fortunatov, A.M. Vasyutinsky, A.K. Dzhivelegov, K.V. Sivkov and others.
